Woolworths’ temperature controlled storage and distribution facility has recently been completed. The 62,000m2 site, located in Truganina houses Woolworths’ primary meat processing and distribution facility for Victoria.
The facility includes 6200m2 Ground Floor Production/Processing area, 9510m2 Ground Floor Warehouse/Storage area, 6800m2 Mezzanine storage and technical departments and 2300m2 Office/Hygiene Lock Area.
The automated warehouse boasts robots, automatically guided vehicles and conveyor belt systems which are key features of the innovative design. These systems ensure the seamless transport of meat from production areas, to the warehouse, and then robots ensure product is sorted and stacked for distribution.
