Vaughan Constructions has delivered a new headquarters and warehouse facility for specialist architectural lighting manufacturer, Darkon.
Located in Vaughan’s Broadfield Estate in Broadmeadows, the new HQ consolidates staff and business processes under one roof, creating operational efficiencies to further bolster their superior customer service with shorter lead times on delivery of products and better market rates.
Boasting a total built area of 3,800m², the facility is inclusive of a 3,300m² warehouse and 550m² of office space.
With a modern industrial aesthetic, the office includes two levels with a void and high ceiling heights, exposed structure and high attention to detail on metal work and joinery. The Darkon team had a vision for the look and feel of their new home and were integral throughout the design phase, collaborating with COX Architects and Blackmilk Interior Design.
The lighting is the key focal point in every space, with the entire facility acting as a showroom to showcase Darkon’s innovative lighting products. Highlights include the stunning chandelier in the entry and the swirling colour-changing statement light in the ground-floor office.
A custom-made perforated staircase is also luminated, located in entry and leads guests to the second floor where you will find more offices and a stunning creaserstone bar that is also perfectly backlit.
Even the warehouse hosts a lighting spectacle with the installation of 258 lineal lights, each six meters long, seeing over 1.5km of linear lights utilised.
The Darkon team were a pleasure to partner with. Their enthusiasm and commitment to their vision resulted in an outstanding finished facility.
